Hyfer
This is a vision that motivates and serves as a guideline for our work. We are all part of the big picture, and if we are to contribute to solving the world's many challenges, it's important we do it together.
If we are to create knowledge for a better world, we must also protect and contribute to maintaining the status of knowledge in society. As a knowledge institution, NTNU has an important role in the dissemination of knowledge and in creating meeting places outside the university.
That's why NTNU decided to create the new knowledge festival, Hyfer. The theme for this year's festival is "the ocean", and together with our partners, NTNU will make it possible for visitors and participants to experience outstanding research, challenging and knowledge-based debates and engaged debate.
During a few busy days, there will be scientific talks, events and films. In collaboration with Kamfest, we invite you "home" to us for a concert in the Main Building at Gløshaugen. At Forskningstorget, we will arouse the curiosity of children and young people, they can test and research, and have the opportunity to meet our researchers. For young adults, we present art, culture and research, food and drink in a different festival experience at Havet.
The name Hypher refers to the network of fungal threads that give life, grow in the soil and blend with the environment. NTNU is also part of a larger society, and exists, grows and thrives in interaction with the world around us. Hyfer will become an innovative arena for knowledge sharing, community and unique experiences.
Hyfer knowledge festival allows people, ideas and projects to meet. We hope that in this way we can contribute to making knowledge even more accessible, that we can inspire, involve - and perhaps create greater interest and understanding in research and innovation, especially among children and young people.
This year is the first time we are organizing Hyfer in Trondheim - and as organizers we are looking forward to meeting visitors, participants and partners from 21 to 25 September. In the long term, the aim is for Hyfer to be present with various activities in all NTNU's study cities, including Ålesund and Gjøvik in addition to Trondheim.
